How to properly and effectively maintain reverse osmosis membranes, and the practical significance of increasing the service life of reverse osmosis membranes and ensuring smooth and reliable operation of reverse osmosis membranes. New reverse osmosis membrane components are generally stored in sealed plastic bags after being immersed in 1% NaHSO3 and 18% Vaseline solution. Even if the plastic bag is not broken and stored for about a year, it will not harm the service life and characteristics of the reverse osmosis membrane. When the plastic bag is opened, it should be applied as soon as possible to prevent negative effects on components caused by NaHSO3 oxidation in the air.
Therefore, the membrane should be opened before application as much as possible. After the equipment is tested, there are two ways for everyone to maintain the reverse osmosis membrane. Test run the equipment for two days (15-24 hours), followed by maintenance with a 2% formaldehyde solution; Or after operating for 2-6 hours, use a 1% NaHSO3 solution to maintain the reverse osmosis membrane (the gas in the equipment pipeline should be drained to ensure that the equipment is not leaking, and all import and export trade valves should be closed). Both methods can achieve satisfactory practical results. Firstly, the cost of the first method is increased and applied when idle for a long time. Secondly, the maintenance of the reverse osmosis membrane is applied when idle for a short period of time.
