Pure water equipment is suitable for the manufacturing and cleaning of various high-purity raw materials, experimental reagents, laboratories, biological experiments, electronic equipment, etc. In recent years, with the promotion of environmental protection concepts, the pharmaceutical industry and other fields have increasingly attached importance to the quality of water use, and the regulations on the water quality of pure water equipment have become more stringent. But some customers have ordered pure water equipment, and after using it for a period of time, the quality of the produced water is getting worse and worse, which is also a serious problem. What is causing this?
The most important component in pure water equipment is the reverse osmosis membrane component. In general, if the reverse osmosis membrane has been used for 2 to 3 years or even longer, it may cause environmental pollution and result in poor water production performance. The general service life of reverse osmosis membranes is 2 to 3 years, but in reality, the service life of reverse osmosis membranes is not stable. By fully considering the factors of water quality changes in tap water and its source water, the service life of reverse osmosis membranes will decrease, but it may also increase.
If the filter core in front of the reverse osmosis membrane is not replaced for a long time, it will cause the accumulation of pollutants, leading to a decrease in the water infiltration standard of the reverse osmosis membrane and a faster rate of environmental pollution.
Due to the poor quality of the source water and the small proportion of extracted water, the concentrated water solenoid valve or cleaning composition valve is blocked, and the equipment does not discharge concentrated water or the extracted water is very small, resulting in a decrease in the service life of the membrane, which is estimated.

From the above analysis, it can be learned that the initial decrease in water production of pure water equipment is due to environmental pollution of the reverse osmosis membrane. Therefore, attention should be paid to the application of reverse osmosis membranes.
1. To avoid damage to membrane performance
New reverse osmosis membrane components are usually stored in sealed packaging bags after being immersed in 1% NaHSO3 and 18% glycerol solution. Even if the packaging bag is not broken, storing it for one year will not harm its service life and performance. After the packaging bag is opened, it should be applied as soon as possible to prevent air oxidation caused by NaHSO3 in the air, which may cause harm to the components. Therefore, the membrane should be opened before application as much as possible.
Two days of debugging and operation of pure water equipment; Subsequently, use a 2% formaldehyde solution for maintenance and upkeep; Or, after operating for 2-6 hours, perform maintenance with a solution of 1% NaHSO3. Both methods can achieve satisfactory practical results. The first method has a higher cost and is applied throughout the entire process when idle for a longer period of time, while the second method is applied when idle for a shorter period of time.
2. Improper use of pure water equipment causes damage to membrane performance.
There are residual vapors in pure water equipment that operate in a natural environment under ultra-high pressure, causing air hammer damage to the membrane. Two situations often occur:
In the case of poor sealing or water seepage at the interface between the preparatory processing machine equipment and the high-pressure cleaning pump, when the preparatory processing power supply is not very large, such as when the microfiltration machine equipment is blocked, in areas with poor sealing, the vacuum pump will suck in some gas. The microfiltration device should be cleaned or replaced to ensure that the pipeline is not leaking. In summary, it is necessary to gradually adjust the pressure in the steam flow meter without bubbles. If bubbles are found during the operation process, blood pressure should be slowly lowered to check the cause.
