Single stage reverse osmosis equipment, whether industrial or household, has brought us many conveniences and advantages. After purifying the water quality, this device can separate water molecules and impurities to obtain purified water with less pollution. But sometimes it is found that the amount of water produced by reverse osmosis water treatment equipment gradually decreases during use. What is the reason? Below, we will briefly introduce the reasons for the decrease in water production of reverse osmosis water treatment equipment?
1. Production side pressure
Under the same inlet pressure, due to the production side maintaining pressure or the production water pipeline being too small, the outlet point is far away, the net pressure decreases, the water production is low, and the resistance is greater.
2. Delayed maintenance of reverse osmosis water treatment equipment
Single stage reverse osmosis equipment lacks corresponding daily maintenance and operation. Generally, quartz sand, activated carbon, and softener front-end filters are not well maintained, and the security filter element is not replaced in a timely manner, or even not replaced.
3. Pressure difference
Under normal circumstances, for the reverse osmosis equipment with 6-core 8040 membrane elements, the pressure difference between the two sections is about 3-4 bar. Unreasonable pipeline design leads to significant pressure loss or poor closure of the secondary concentrated water discharge valve, which can reduce the net pressure of the reverse osmosis water treatment equipment and result in low water production.
4. Instrument reading error
The pressure gauge and flow meter of the reverse osmosis equipment were not calibrated before use, resulting in inaccurate readings. The installation position of the pressure gauge is far from both ends of the pressure vessel, and its reading includes the pressure loss of the pipeline. However, if a pressure gauge is used as the inlet pressure, the inlet pressure is low and the water production is low.
5. Conductivity (TDS)
The inlet conductivity (TDS) is much higher than the design value. For NaCl solution, for every 1000ppm increase in TDS, the osmotic pressure increases by 11.4psi (0.8bar). Under the same inlet pressure, the water production will decrease.
The above briefly introduces the reasons for the decrease in water production of single-stage reverse osmosis equipment. I hope the above content can be helpful to you. If you have any related questions, please call us for consultation, and we will answer your questions.
