Steps and precautions for chemical cleaning of reverse osmosis equipment, precautions and preparation work before cleaning:
① Before using cleaning drugs, carefully read the drug form and instructions obtained from the drug company;
② Wear glasses, protective gloves, and work clothes during operation;
③ Calibrate the pH meter before use;
④ Estimate the volume of cleaning solution used;
⑤ Ensure that the cleaning solution is fully dissolved and mixed before entering the system;
⑥ The temperature and pH range of the cleaning solution meet the specified values.
Cleaning method for reverse osmosis equipment:
The general chemical cleaning steps are as follows. The specific matters will be adjusted according to the working conditions and cleaning requirements on site:
① Rinse the membrane components. Rinse with reverse osmosis water or ion exchange water for a few minutes.
② Prepare medication. Ensure complete dissolution of drugs.
③ Replace the water in the membrane element with low flow rate, discharge a portion of the cleaning solution, and then circulate back and forth. The flow rate is based on the range in Table 8. When pollution is severe, if a high flow rate is chosen, there is a possibility of high pressure difference, which may damage the membrane element (single membrane element with a large pressure drop of 0.07 MPa). At this point, it is better to use the following methods for operation:
-Start running for 5 minutes at 1/3 of the set flow rate;
-Between 5-10 minutes, maintain a flow rate of 2/3 of the set flow rate;
-After 10 minutes, according to the traffic requirements.
The time will depend on the specific situation. Generally, 1 hour is used as the standard. During this period, it is necessary to check whether the pH value has changed. The pressure should be kept at a low level as much as possible and there should be as little water production as possible. Simultaneously monitor for any changes in pressure difference.
④ Soak and then reflux. Slowly close the valve at the inlet of the reverse osmosis membrane element, and when the circulation rate approaches zero, turn off the circulation pump. To prevent liquid from flowing out of the pressure vessel, relevant valves can be closed during soaking. The soaking time is determined by the degree of contamination. Generally within the range of 1-12 hours. After soaking, open the relevant valves before cycling.
⑤ Rinse. Rinse the membrane components and cleaning devices with reverse osmosis produced water or ion exchange water. At this point, the system switches from a cyclic state to an emission state. Rinse the membrane system with supply water. The flushing time is approximately 20-60 minutes. The cleanliness of flushing can be determined by measuring the pH value and conductivity of the drainage. The values of pH value and conductivity are similar to those of the inlet water, and flushing can be stopped when there is no change.
⑦ Trial operation. Start the reverse osmosis equipment system normally, and discharge the initial produced water until the water quality meets the requirements. In order to obtain stable reverse osmosis water quality, the recovery time sometimes takes several hours to several days. It should be noted that after cleaning with alkaline solution (high pH value), it takes a longer time for water quality to recover.
