Precautions for adding antifreeze to antifreeze production equipment:

(1) Before adding antifreeze, it is necessary to carefully clean the engine cooling system. This is because antifreeze contains descaling agents and detergents. If the engine cooling system is not carefully cleaned before use and antifreeze is added directly, the existing scale in the engine cooling system will come into contact with the antifreeze and fall off, causing the antifreeze to become cloudy, thickened, discolored, and odorous. In severe cases, due to poor heat dissipation and ineffective antifreeze circulation, the water pipes, channels, or bends under the water tank may block and settle, resulting in excessively high engine temperatures. To prevent these phenomena from occurring, the antifreeze production equipment company recommends soaking the water tank in a 10% caustic soda solution for 1 hour before adding antifreeze, then draining the flushing solution and repeatedly rinsing 2-3 times with softened water to remove scale from the engine cooling system. Add antifreeze after cleaning.

(2) Before adding antifreeze, check if there are any leaks in the engine cooling system and remove them promptly before using antifreeze.

(3) It is strictly prohibited to directly add antifreeze mother liquor. Some equipment operators and maintenance personnel believe that the purer the antifreeze, the better the concentration of ethylene glycol. Directly adding antifreeze mother liquor cannot meet the requirements of antifreeze at the freezing point, but instead can cause some phenomena, such as antifreeze deterioration, high concentration, high density, increased low-temperature viscosity, and high engine temperature. Therefore, when using antifreeze mother liquor, it should be prepared according to requirements and direct use is strictly prohibited.

(4) Regular checks should be conducted when using antifreeze. Antifreeze agents generally have a usage period of 2 years, so they have continuity during use. To reduce waste, do not change the antifreeze after refueling. But the antifreeze used should be checked regularly. Antifreeze can be checked annually in conjunction with seasonal maintenance. The inspection content includes freezing point inspection and specific gravity inspection. At the same time, conduct a visual inspection of the antifreeze in use. If the specific gravity increases, the antifreeze thickens, the freezing point rises, the antifreeze becomes cloudy, spoiled, odorous, or foamy, it should be replaced in a timely manner. Considering that it is not realistic for us to conduct these inspections at present, for safety reasons, it is recommended to replace them every year.

(5) Antifreeze produced by different manufacturers of antifreeze production equipment shall not be mixed. This mixture is prone to corroding the engine and water tank. For equipment that adds antifreeze, the filling date, brand and manufacturer of the antifreeze added should be indicated on the water tank, so that the equipment cannot be mixed when transferred to the next equipment station.
