In the process of papermaking, there is a lot of tap water, and the production of 1 ton of paper requires about 300-1000m3 of water. Because the bad water is slightly alkaline, dark in color, heavy in odor, and rich in foam plastics, and it consumes a lot of dissolved oxygen in water, it seriously pollutes water resources, and causes harm to the natural environment and people's physical and mental health.
The concentration values of SS and COD in waste paper and papermaking wastewater are relatively high, and COD is composed of two parts: non soluble COD and soluble COD. Generally, non soluble COD accounts for the vast majority of the total COD production. When SS is removed from the wastewater, the vast majority of non soluble COD is also removed. Therefore, the key challenge in treating waste paper and papermaking wastewater is to remove SS and COD.
The BOD5 value in waste paper and papermaking wastewater is relatively low, and the ratio of BOD5 to COD is generally between 0.15 and 0.25, indicating weak biodegradability. The only way to treat concrete is to remove a portion of BOD5, and for the vast majority of BOD5 removal, biochemical methods should be used.
